Within Control VS Out of Control

Sunday, September 09, 2007

It has been a long time since I blogged. But well...next week I will be preparing to go Taiwan from 19th Sep to 26th Sep - applied leave and book a tour package already. So I won't be blogging until all the way till end of Sep I think.

These few days, again, I've been disappointed. The question comes right out of my mind again. It's about things I can control and the things I cannot control.

If you put talent and fate (things not within your control) vs hard work and your own behaviour (things in your control), to which side will the scale favour? Which is more important to your life?

I've been proven again - things that are out of control.

There are times when no matter how hard you work, how determined you are in doing certain things, good things and good results don't come to you that easily. It's also about that extra bit of luck, that extra bit of talent and extra bit of chance. People don't really get recognized for their hard work.

Sometimes I don't need to work so hard.

What's the point of working hard when you are not rewarded?

Been catching up quite a bit on piano these days. It really helps me to calm down and re-organise my thoughts. But come to think about it, I really lack of the talent to play good music and I don't pay enough hard work to practise on my techniques.

It's very hard when talents are not on your side. I've to put in more hours of work, not to say I have 24 hours just like other talented people do.

Trying to train up for my running as well - but still can't run as fast as some other people. Talent really is a factor of excelling in sports as well.

Frustrated, disappointed, disheartened, and want to give up...

But without all the hard work, I think I will be further off behind than this.
